  • Thanks Everyboby for incentive messages!.
  • For Those that' couldn't have the chance to work us, Our Sincere Appologies, but we are sure that near future others would like to try another Christmas Island DXpedition with better oppenings and we're sure that you will work VK9X.
  • For those  tha  we had a contact Thank you very much for participating.
  • Please REMEMBER ALL CARDS MUST BE SENT TO EA4URE.
  • During Operation Conditions were very bad, ex.: spend times and times calling on 6Mts , 80 Mts, Top-Band  SSB/CW No Reply!
  • We couldn't  really work separate by continents as the propagation conditions were very bad, propagation during a few hours . Working on the other side of the pile-up during those periods the operator must be more attention and carefully, many many stations calling at Noise level.
  • Many Thanks for following : Splash, Travel, Qantas Hollidays.
  • As well on Digital Modes transmiting during Friday and Saturday with 300 Watts no good copy.

Date July 16, 2008

  • It has been quite complicated to prepare this activity, with many problems and when we got to Christmas we have found more. The afternoon we arrived we installed an antenna vertical multiband and some dipoles to spend the night. At the start doing tests, the neighbors called at the door because they did not see the TV. This house was rented on condition of installing antennas and now we come with these problems, and we haven´t enough space for all antennas. Calming the situation and we could transmit only a short time, unless I do that with 100 Watts and the dipole for 30 meters I could work on CW for 4 hours and i worked some EA's.

  • Yesterday, with the new situation and like we have much coaxial, we have installed the Spiderbeam on rocks near the sea and very remote from the houses. After adjusting antennas, perfect, no ITV on neighbors TV. We have also installed the directive for 6 meters, the inverted L for 80 and 160 of that tonight has been broken the mast. At Christmas makes a lot of wind and the antennas are moving much. Yesterday afternoon / evening we began the operation taking the 20-metre open for a few hours. Today we starr at 16:00 VK9X time, here are 5 hours more, and during the day, at least in the morning all bands are closed, very bad propagation. At night when it closed at 20 metres I wqorked in the 30 and 40 meter bands (CW)with linear, but without it I worked several EA´s good signals. Some of stations comming very good but they don´t listen to me. I hope these nights (your evenings) to work more and EA's and friends.

It makes a lot of heat and we haven´t pool, we have to go through the shower 3 or 4 times per day.

    Greetings to all, 73

Date July 13, 2008

Date July 4, 2008

  • We are few days to Start Christmas Island DXpedition 2008.
  • Remember we ve to postpone to July 14th until July 21th , the reason is because we have to change the flights to and from Christmas island.
  • Thanks Everyboby for incentive messages!.
  • Until present date over 22000 Visitors on Christmas island DXpedition Web-Page.
  • Believe us!  We had Lot of  effort on this Project!.
  • Unfortunately Solar activity is expected to be very low. Here the Propagation Prediction!  Activity is expected to decrease to unsettled levels during 14 - 17 July as the high-speed stream gradually subsides. Activity is expected to decrease to quiet levels during 18 - 21 July. Activity is expected to increase to unsettled levels during 22 - 24 July due to recurrence. Activity is expected to decrease to quiet levels during 25 - 28 July.
  • Please don't make DUPE QSO's. Unfortunately there are some operators would like to make DUPES, it means work more than once at same band. This is bad, because when these operators work for the second time on the same band perhaps there are others without that possibility to work at least one time.
  • We're trying to pass the message for those operators, that is necessary to listening before calling and check the diary or the log.
  • One of the most important things for amateur radio is Friendship and Courtesy. Working a DX´pedition several times on same band and don't give the chance for others is completely out of Cortesy.

Date June 27, 2008

The July 14 they will arrive to Christmas island and install as many antennas as possible and start the activity.
  • The team have problems 1 month ago, the first air carrier that pushed us, announced that it no longer fly over the island since June 1. Were a sad news and a big problem one month before depart. We will look for change the travel, the we can’t flight from Singapur to Christmas directly, we need a change and this cost more money for every one but it’s the only from to no cancel the operation, and met a new alternatively. Now we change the dates from 14 to 21 July. Will be a long and hard travel, but we work hard to do a Good operation.
